Mount Kerinci

Mount Kerinci came in Kerinci Seblat National Park area, the volcano is squeezed between two mountains in the west and the east.
Mount Kerinci including volcano is still active, with an altitude of 3805 masl. The mountain is the highest mountain in Indonesia outside the mountains of Irian Jaya. In the east there Bento lake, the highest swamp with clearly water in Sumatra. Behind him there is Mount Tujuh with a very beautiful crater that is almost untouched. In the middle of the park there is a gap Sungai Penuh city valley, coffee plantations, and lake Kerinci.
This mountain can be reached by road from Jambi to Sungai penuh through the Bangko. Can also be reached from Padang, Lubuk Linggau, and Bengkulu. With the aircraft could have landed in Padang or Jambi.
Panorama of natural beauty with rich flora and fauna can be encountered ranging from lowland to the top of mount Kerinci, not only to enjoy but it’s very good to do research and education. Climbing to the top of Mount Kerinci take two days starting from Pos Kersik Tuo.
Not far from Mount Kerinci there are lakes in the crater of Mount Tujuh. There is also a hot spring in Semurup. There are clear paths and some shelter to the interesting places to visit. There is an observation tower at top of Mount Kerinci.
Lowland plants is dominated by several types of mahogany, there are also plants giant flowers Rafflesia Arnoldi and giant suweg Amorphophallus titanum. With the Leuser national park, this park is hindered by the lake Toba and Sihanok canyons. So some animals that are not found in the Leuser park is here as tapirs (Tapirus indicus) and Kus-kus (Tarsius bancanus).
There are many unique animals such as Sumatran elephants, Sumatran rhinos, tigers, Honey bears, leopards, except orang-utans. Various primates such as gibbons, long-tailed monkeys and Presbytis Melapophos. There are also 140 species of birds.
